What is Salvation? Salvation is being saved by the grace of God. His everlasting love is evident in the Bible. First of all, God didn't have to send his Son, Jesus to die for us and save us from our sins as it says in John 3:16-17. "For God so loved the world that He sent his one and only Son that who ever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."
What did Jesus do while He was here on the earth? He was born as a human baby in a manger to Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem because there was no room for them in the inn. As He grew up, He never sinned once or did anything wrong. When He turned 30, He started his ministry. He asked John the Baptist to baptize Him. (John 1:29-34). Not long after that, He fed the 5,000. He would later walk on water, healed and restored life to many. He appointed his 12 disciples and taught various people such as Nicodemus, the rich young prince, and his disciples at times too. Jesus also did other great miracles, too many to type on this page.
Jesus came to this earth, not just to do his ministry, but to save the world from our sins because in Romans 6:23 it says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Jesus would pay the price for us by dying a horrible death by crucifixion. Crucifixion was the worst possible death a criminal could be sentenced too in Roman times. But Jesus hadn't done anything wrong his entire life.
Judas, one of his disciples at the time, betrayed Jesus for 30 silver coins that the Jews would give him if they arrested Jesus. The Jews hated Jesus because they thought He was a threat to them. They brought false charges on Him while Jesus stayed quiet in front of the governor, Pilate. After pressure from the Jews, he sentenced Jesus to die by crucifixion. They beat and whipped him and then brought Him out to a place called Golgotha (the place of the skull). After a fairly short time of being on the cross, Jesus died. At the moment He died the giant curtain to the Holy of Holies ripped open signifying a new covenant through Christ. This was recorded in John 18-19.
On Sunday morning, 3 days after He died on the cross. He had been buried in a rich man's tomb not far from Golgotha. On the 3rd day, there was a great light which blinded the guards standing there and an earthquake which scared them so much they fell to the ground in agony. The door to the tomb was rolled away, Jesus was alive! He had risen from the dead.(John 20:1-9). Mary and Mary Magdalene came to the tomb to put spices on Jesus' body which was customary back then. Then they saw that the stone had been rolled away. They thought that Jesus' body had been stolen. But then two angels appeared and said "He is not here, He has risen!" Mary went to tell the disciples who thought she was crazy. She said "He is risen!". They finally believed her.
Only 40 days after the resurrection of Jesus, Jesus ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God. He is there today. (Acts 1).
All of this leads to something right? The option to take the free gift that God has offered us. That is Salvation that brings us to Heaven. There is no other way, just through Christ. Heaven is paradise, once you accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and King, you will rest in eternal peace with God and Jesus when you die. And once you accept Christ, your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life which has every name that has accepted Christ as their Saviour.
We need to repent of our sins. We can't say we never have done anything wrong. Romans 3:23 says that "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God." That means we can't get to Heaven with good deeds. We will always fall short. Only repenting of our sins and giving our life over to Christ will get us to Heaven by just praying a simple prayer. We also know that Jesus is the only way because of my favorite verse John 14:6. "Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.""
Do you want to change your life today by giving your life over to Christ? If you want to, please pray this simple prayer:
God, I know I have sinned against you many times. But today I want to give my life over to you. I admit I have sinned and gone against your ways. I believe you came down in the form of a man, died for us saving us from our sins, and rose again on the 3rd day. I choose you to be my Lord and King in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
If you prayed this prayer today. I want to know about it. Please go to the Contact C.L.M. page and fill out a simple form letting me know you accepted Christ today.
